As Lancaster County continues to emerge as one of South Carolina’s leading destinations for business investment, the South Carolina I-77 Alliance welcomes Jennifer Bryan as the newest member of the Lancaster County Department of Economic Development.
Bryan joined the Lancaster County Department of Economic Development in late June as Economic Development Coordinator. She works closely with Director Brian Fulk and Business Retention and Expansion Manager Amy Carnes to advance new investments, create quality jobs, strengthen workforce partnerships, and support existing employers throughout Lancaster County.
Representing one of the five counties that make up the SC I-77 Alliance, Lancaster County has seen dramatic momentum in recent years, fueled by strategic investments, a growing workforce, and its prime residential and business location just south of Charlotte.
Bryan has degrees from Harvard University and North Carolina State University and brings a unique combination of planning, public service, and community experience to the role.
She spent the past five years with the Lancaster County Planning Department, where she coordinated Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals activities while helping developers and residents through the county’s development process. She previously served for eight years as a Judicial Assistant in the Lancaster County and Mecklenburg County probate courts.
“Jennifer’s knowledge of Lancaster County, combined with her experience in planning and public service, makes her an outstanding addition to our economic development team. She understands both the opportunities and the responsibilities that come with a fast-growing community, and she’ll play an important role as we continue creating jobs, supporting existing industry, and preparing Lancaster County for the future,” Fulk said.
“The Alliance is built on strong partnerships, and those partnerships begin with exceptional people. Jennifer’s background and commitment to Lancaster County strengthen not only the county’s economic development efforts but also the competitiveness of the entire I-77 Corridor. We look forward to working alongside her as Lancaster County continues its impressive growth,” said Chris Finn, Interim President and CEO of the South Carolina I-77 Alliance.
The SC I-77 Alliance is a five-county economic development marketing and research partnership representing Chester, Fairfield, Lancaster, Richland, and York counties. Stretching from Charlotte to Columbia, the Alliance promotes regional collaboration and markets the I-77 Corridor to companies seeking opportunities for investment, relocation and expansion.
