Liquid injection molding firm celebrates grand opening of York County facility
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Silcotech, a global leader in liquid injection molding, has celebrated the grand opening of its York County operations and has also announced an additional $2.5 million investment in the facility.
Established in 1984 and headquartered in Ontario, Canada, Silcotech produces specialized silicone components for a number of industries, including medical, healthcare, automotive, packaging, consumer electronics and consumer markets. In addition to its Canadian headquarters and new South Carolina facility, the company also operates a plant in India, boasting a truly global footprint.
In production since January 2015, Silcotech’s York County facility, which represents the company’s first in the U.S., produces precision silicone parts. This additional $2.5 million investment adds to an initial $3.5 million investment, which the company announced in August 2013. Currently, approximately 42 workers are employed at the facility.
