FORT MILL, S.C. – Schuff Steel Company, part of the DBM Global Inc. family of companies and an operating subsidiary of HC2 Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: HCHC), today announced it is launching new manufacturing operations in York County. The company’s $9 million capital investment is projected to create more than 180 new jobs.
Consistently ranked as the No. 1 steel erector in the U.S. by Engineering News-Record magazine, Schuff Steel is one of the largest and most experienced structural steel fabricators and erectors in North America. The company’s multiple fabrication plants across the U.S. have a collective footprint of more than 1.47 million square feet.
To establish operations in York County, Schuff Steel will be refurbishing a 148,000-square-foot fabrication facility located on a 45-acre site at 1345 Hall Spencer Road in Rock Hill, S.C. The new operations are expected to come online by the fourth quarter of 2018. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project.
